How Much More Proof Do Conservatives Need That The GOP Only Serves The 1%?
Do they actually need Mitch McConnell to go on national television and announce, “If you are not rich, we hate you. We hate you so much that we want you to either die or become slaves.”
Think that would do it?
In lieu of that, we have this:
The Buffett Rule, a bill backed by President Obama that would ensure millionaires pay a comparable tax rate to middle-class Americans, fell to a Republican filibuster in the Senate this evening, despite a new poll showing it to be overwhelmingly popular.
A CNN poll released today found that 72 percent of Americans — including 53 percent of Republicans and almost 70 percent of independents — support the Buffett Rule. (emphasis mine)
A little more than half of their own base support this idea. An overwhelming majority of the rest country support this idea. The 1% does not support this idea.
If you are still not convinced that the GOP is owned by the rich, you are either a member of the media or have a brain tumor.
